Update: The Village Lifestyle Center [PIC]

The Village
The Village Construction

The Village is a small shopping project being developed at Palm Beach Boulevard (name dubbed by me, it’s not official), just across Radisson Resort and near Riu Palace. Neighboring are two other retail projects.

On an earlier occasion I’ve stated how much I like The Village project. The reasons for that is the fact that this project is nothing seen thus far in Aruba in terms of the theme, colors and size. More pictures after the jump.

The developers say that this place is a “Lifestyle Center”, where people visit not only to shop but to take on the culture as well. The colors certainly suggest a bright and alive atmosphere. The project is relatively small, parking is ample and the location is great. From what I understand, all units are rented and The Village is supposed to open soon.

It look like one of the village of Disneyland Paris.

I’m happy that they took seriously the design, presentation and atmosphere. I hate to see those commercial centers that looks like a shoe box and with a awful presentation.

The experience count.

Frans, I don’t know if you been there as of late, but since above picture they removed the construction barricades.

It still need some work and the fountain still needs to be installed but it looks even better in person.

Thanks for commenting.

I mean, I like this one, not like others commercial centers that looks like a box for example the commercial center where Hard Rock Café is situated, that building is not inviting.

In my opinion the best commercial/shopping center/mall/plaza of Aruba are:

  • Renaissance Mall
  • Paseo Herencia
  • The Village

They understand the concept. If Royal Plaza was not a copy of Coconut Grove in Miami, I had put it also in my list.

Merry Christmas everyone.
